Trent C. Heinemeyer
Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary
is an attorney and CPA, and became the General Counsel for Medical Protective in February of 2004. Prior to Joining Medical Protective, Trent served as Managing Counsel for the Product and Regulatory Services Department of GE Insurance Solutions' (GEIS) Legal Division, responsible for leading a number of regulatory functions and matters related to the GEIS entities.
Before joining GE, Trent worked twelve years with the North Dakota Insurance Commissioner's Office, where he held various positions, including General Counsel and Deputy Insurance Commissioner. While with the Insurance Commissioner's Office, Trent engaged in legal work related to a broad range of insurance regulatory matters involving insolvencies, statutory accounting, investments, market conduct, enforcement, rate and form filing, company and agent licensing, legislation, administrative rules, administrative proceedings, affiliate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, reinsurance and other transactions.
Before working with the Insurance Commissioner's Office, Trent worked in the Oil and Gas business, and with a CPA firm. He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, and the University of North Dakota School of Law.
Trent and his family reside in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
