Enterprise Risk Management

 

This first part of the enterprise risk management (ERM) module describes inter-related ERM domains within healthcare organizations, goals in implementing ERM, and ERM process tools. It also covers internal aspects that influence the success of ERM implementation, describes ERM team members and responsibilities, and discusses the process of analyzing the application of ERM when contemplating adding a new service line.

The second part of the enterprise risk management (ERM) module defines evidence-based practice and where to find it; discusses the importance of bundles regarding patient outcomes; describes the needs and benefits of policies and procedures; explains policy and procedure management; explores the importance of guidelines, protocols, and checklists; and identifies the role that processes play within the healthcare organization.
